Junior Gym
Every Tuesday and Friday (10:30 until 12:30)
To ensure that the equipment is used safely we will have a member of staff monitoring the equipment.
We request that parents supervise their children during these sessions to encourage the safe and correct use of all kit. If you wish to make notes of how your child is progressing over a few sessions we can provide you with a Progress Log.
Everyone who participates will be can claim their personalised Certificate at the end of the session from reception!

These sessions are intended as a short introduction for little ones to a healthy lifestyle, but mainly its all about having fun!
We have a selection of minature, specially designed, childrens gym equipment. Parents are provided with simple, clear instructions on how to use each piece of equipment.
With both traditional weights across the top and leg lifts at the base this is a popular choice with the children. they get to lie down whilst playing.
Even Grandparents will be able to lift these weights!
The body ball is another fun one to play around with. Your child can lie across the ball, with your support of course, and roll around. It's harder to control than you might think. We hear lots of laughter as people slip off and mums give it a go too!
The excercise bike is not so easy to use for the tiny tots as their legs cannot always reach the pedals - but they seem to love pushing all the buttons just as much as pedalling.

Not for toddlers with short legs. The rowing machine is great fun if your childs legs are long enough to push the seat back!

Another firm favourite, you can't go wrong with the stepper. Kids know instinctively what to do with this piece of equipment, which has adjustable resistance. If you have really little children then simply change the setting to make things that little bit easier for them.
The little footprints tell your child exactly where to walk while they hold on tight to the hand bar. It is hard to get the little ones away from the Treadmill once they get the hang of it.
Finally we come to the Walker. For adults this piece of equipment is known as a Cross Trainer and it's great fun. Simply hold onto the handles and swing your legs back and forth. Once you have started its a bit like flying as the momentum will keep you going to the end of your minute. Its a really useful piece of kit for tiny tots who are not yet used to the 'walking motion' as the Walker does all the work for them.
